Santa Catarina avança no setor de games!

The project establishing the SC Games Program has been approved — a strategic initiative aimed at boosting companies, developing talent, and strengthening the games ecosystem in Santa Catarina.

With the approval of Bill No. 334/2024, the proposal now moves forward for the governor’s sanction, marking another important step for the growth of the sector in the state.

But what does this mean in practice? To better understand the impact of this achievement, check out the statement from Marcia Regina Battistella, the creator of SC Games and coordinator of the Novos Talentos project:

“The approval of Bill No. 334/2024 represents a strategic step toward strengthening innovation, education, and the creative economy in Santa Catarina. By establishing the SC Games Program into law, the state will directly invest in the development of young talent, the creation of opportunities, and the growth of a sector that is rapidly expanding in Brazil and worldwide. This initiative connects education, technology, and the job market, promoting inclusion, professional qualification, and sustainable economic development. Approving this law means believing in the potential of our youth and in the future of Santa Catarina’s digital games industry.”

The creation of SC Games reinforces an important movement to strengthen the creative industry and highlights Santa Catarina’s role as a promising hub for game development in Brazil.
